Bulgur with chickpeas
Quantity for 7 persons
Ingredients:
-500 g of white or brown bulgur
-250 g of boiled chickpeas
-250 g of small onions
-1 tablespoon of margarine or oil
-1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
-1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
-1/2 teaspoon of caraway
-1 tablespoon salt
-500 to 750 ml of water
Preparation:
- boil the onions whole pieces
-soak bulgur for 15 mins then drain
-in a pot, put margarine with boiled onions, chickpea, bulgur, salt, spices then cover with water.
-when boiled, cover the pot, and keep on low heat till well done.
-Note:
You can add either boiled chopped meat or boiled chopped chicken in the bulgur as desired.
- served hot as appetizers.
